tell me something. it's totally weird that when i put down saucers of tuna fish water for my kitties today that they ran away right??
on the way home from work, i passed an accident. a car had obviously prematurely turned left and sideswiped another. as i peered onto the scene i saw an old lady standing just out of the way, clearly trying to calm herself after being struck on her way to who knows where. when i saw her my heart went out to her. she looked to fragile & alone and yet sweet & gentle. it both frightened and comforted me. i suppose in a way, being old is no more scary than it is to be young.
i've been surprised by how my summer is unfolding. it's not bad, i guess i'm just surprised it's so different than what i expected. but i suppose it's true what they say that things change fast. but why is all the wrong things? or why is it everyone else?
joy is the kind of person who learns from other people's mistakes, where i'm the kind of person who will only learn by doing. but at least i learn. i'm relieved to see that i'm sort of getting the hang of things. and i've discovered that whatever's not actually "the end of the world" are usually things i can do without.
i could do a lot of things
and i do.

Was it at the corner of Nelson and Concession? There was one that occured there around 4:30pm with an old lady, though I thought it was the lady who made the bonk. At any rate, at any age, accidents are sure to shake you up.
I also saw a young woman hit a pole with her car yesterday. And after she disengaged the metal bounced back to pretty much the same place. You couldn't tell from afar that there had been an accident.
About learning from others vs. not: Astrid is like Joy, and Muirgen is like you. Maybe older/younger sibling thing.
that might be so. i didn't actually witness the accident, i was judging based on how old the one car was and assumed that one was hers.
ya, you might be right jase. funny though, you'd think the second would learn from the first's mistakes. maybe it's a fearlessness caused by always having a big sister looking out for you.
To further Jason's case - he (the oldest) is like Joy and his younger sister is like you, Les. I don't know that it holds up in my family, though. I (the oldest) definitely feel more of a need to try things out than my younger sister does.
that's probably how you two deny all laws of gravity by being married!
this is it, right?
i sort of agree about the older/younger sibling thing... although my older sister tried out everything she could up until her 20s and her return to the fold. myself, i was risk-free until about my 20s when i left.
i do do a lot of things.
